Open Trial
Venue: Hockley
Trial Held: 26 November 2016

Stakes: Intro and CD

Steward: Sandra

I would like to thank the committee of the society for the invitation to judge at the trial.  Many thanks to Kay Abbey and her enthusiastic band of helpers to organize this trial.  My thanks also to Sandra for stewarding in her usual friendly, professional manner.  Also, many thanks to the ladies in the kitchen for keeping us supplied with refreshments all day.

We were lucky with the weather, it being cold with sunshine at times and no rain. We had 7 entries in the Introductory Stake and 3 in the CD Stake, with just one scratch from the Introductory Stake.

The squares were all worked on rough thick grass, using suitable articles, and only two dogs failed to find all the articles.

Introductory Stake:

1st           DAGENHAM DUCHESS SAFFIE, Lab, handled by Donna Loughran, 93, Q.  Lovely happy dog that richly deserved ist place and this qualification.  Congratulations and best luck in future trials.

2nd         GYPSY WHIRLWIND TWISTER, Cross, handled by Sharon Jones, 88, NQ.  Dropped only one mark on each of control and nosework, just the scale that let the dog down this time.

3rd          KENQUARTZ BLACK BOWLER HAT, Lab, handled Lisa Fuller, 84, NQ.  Good team once again only let down by the scale.

4th          SAMSTAG URI, GSD, handled by Pam Stare, 80, NQ.  Full marks apart from the sit stay and scale - well done, Pam

CD Stake:

1st           THE CHEKA AT BRACOKELI, GSD, handled by Mark Lewindon, 99.5, Q.  Lost just half a mark overall, excellent outing for the dog’s first trial.  Congratulations and best luck in future trials

2nd         READATOR ACTIVE STORM, GSD, handled by Nicola Foskett, 87, Q.  Many congratulations, and good luck in the future.

3rd          CLEYNEHAGE POLAR NETTLE, G Ret, handled Peter Moore, 52, NQ.  Flyte really enjoyed her outing with Peter, glad to see them both back in good health.

Once again, many thanks to the society and competitors for a very enjoyable day; none of you disgraced yourselves, and it was a pleasure to judge you all.
