Thank you Fingal for the invitation to judge all stakes at your January trial, and to Anne Collen and Diana Collie for the organisation and terrific hospitality. All the helpers, tracklayers, stewards, caterers and chauffeurs were first class, and remained cheerful and good company in spite of the rain, as did all the competitors.
1st Samantha Rawson with BATTERSEA’S BEST TO PELE, WSD, 91, Q. A nice steady round, with full mark square; won the run-off. Congratulations.
2nd Julie Holmes with HIGHYEWS JARO AT TAGNRYE, (JD), (GBISDS), BC, 91, Q. Another nice round, but lost the run-off, a sendaway, which was equal to the winner’s, except for an extra command. Well done.
3rd Anne Collen with RAMBAUDS ARTIE, Pyr Sheepdog, 88.5, Q. Well done. Nice to see another breed of dog working so well.
4th Fintan Doherty with PARAVEL HANNAH, GSD, 82.5, NQ. Nice sympathetic handling. A pity about the down stay, which was very costly on this occasion. Better luck next time.
1st Samantha Rawson with BATTERSEA’S BEST TO PELE, WSD, 178.5, NQ. A nice track with all articles recovered, and winner of the Best Ttrack award. The down stay cost the qualification this time, but I’m sure you will do well in the future.
2nd Caroline Woods with PARAVEL HANNAH, GSD, 88.5, NQ. Very difficult, handling Fintan’s dog. However, a nice control round.
1st Jennifer Hickey with Ch HA’PENNY LITTLE OWL, BC, 161.5, NQ. Winner of the Best Track award. The jumps proved the problem on this occasion.
1st Anne Collen with WTCh TESSA OF TANTRUM CROSS, CDEx – TDEx, GWP, 204.5, NQ. A lovely track and square, with all articles recovered. Winner of the Best Track award, and a worthy winner overall with a very competent performance.
2nd Miriam Lyons with WTCh TAMARRYE MARANELLO, BC, 185, NQ. Another nice round, but left one article on the track. Well done.
3rd Diana Collie with WTCh COLLIEWOOD BROWN EYES BLUE, BC, 175, NQ. Sometimes even an experienced handler has an off day. Never mind, another lesson learned.
We would have had three qualifiers in the TD stake had it not been for a sudden gust of wind blowing the rain right into the dogs’ faces, causing two dogs to sit up after 4 minutes and the remaining dog after 5 minutes.
Once again I would like to thank everyone concerned with the trial for making my job easy, and for creating a smashing atmosphere and being such good sports.
