I would like to thank Fingal Dog Club for inviting me to judge. Arthur and I really enjoyed ourselves in Ireland and thank you all for making us so welcome. Thanks to Anne for running a happy and relaxed trial. Also a special thanks to Anne for the super accommodation and to Anne and Diana for the lovely meals. Another thank you goes to Marjorie and all the helpers at base. Base was Marjorie's kitchen and she gave us a lovely lunch each day. The home made soup was delicious and so was the rest of the food.

The trial ran over three days - the first day was a lovely sunny day but cold - the next 2 days were overcast, but luckily no rain during the day. The tracking was on sparse crop, very dry on the first day and tacky on the other 2 days. The dogs had to work hard but I saw some lovely tracks as well as some good control rounds.

Thank you to Arthur for laying all the TD tracks and for stewarding the control round on Sunday afternoon. Thank you also to my steward Mary, it was your first time laying squares and you did a first class job, especially as you had to swap between TD, WD and UD.

1st     Receiving the Green Star, WTCh COLLIEWOOD BROWN EYES BLUE, BC, handled by Diana Collie. A well deserved win - you had a little trouble on the track but you managed to sort it out. A very nice control round with a lovely sendaway. Well done. Q, 200.

2nd   WTCh TESSA OF TANTRUM CROSS, GSP, handled by Anne Collen. A good track and a good control round with a super full mark sendaway. Full marks on the jumps. Well done. Q, 193.5.

1st     RAMBAUDS ORTIE, Pyr. Sheepdog, handled by Anne Collen. First track of the trial -ground frozen, but this little dog worked so hard and did a lovely track with 2 articles and 4 out of the square. Tiggy then went on to do a good control round. Best Track Award - well done.   186.5

2nd   BATTERSEA’S BEST TO PELE, WSD, handled by Samantha Rawson. He tried so hard on the track and found the first article. He continued for a while then went the wrong way, then did a good square with 4 articles and went on to do a good control round. Keep trying, he is a lovely dog. NQ, 113.
