Cappanargid, Rathangan, Co. Kildare, Ireland

Judge:  Lorna Cottier

A trip to Ireland is always a terrific experience and this was no exception with its friendliness, hospitality and a great laugh.
On top of that, we had super dogs and handlers who gave their all and showed great sportsmanship throughout.
I’d like to thank everyone involved in this trial, especially Judith for all her hard work before, during and after the trial, Jeff for his liaison with the farmers that ensured we had good quality land and to both of them for sharing their lovely home.

My helpers were absolutely first class. Riona Kilbride kept me right throughout the trial stewarding everything and provided the fashion entertainment with her hood.
Tracklayers were Steve Fearon, Jeff Poole, Caroline Woods and Judith Owens Poole– all fab company and gave the dogs the best possible chance.

We were blessed with dry weather albeit it very cold weather which made conditions good for competing.

1st Jenny Hickey & Dogstown Kirsti Comin Home to Hapenny B A really lovely happy agile dog, Kirsti shows a solid grounding of the exercises. Plenty of time on her side to get used to maintaining her concentration; she will no doubt progress well. Well done 75 CD

2nd Angela Higgins & Waggerland All Spice B WSD Such a smart happy team, Millie always putting in a fabulous performance but just missing out on the jumps by ½ mark – so frustrating but the qualification will come. Best of luck. 92.5 NQ

UD 9 entries

1st Angela Higgins & Waggerland All Spice B WSD If at first you don’t succeed; try, try again – here was a team that has often been, as in CD, been so close. Today it all came together; super steady track and keen precise search, followed by a near perfect control round and a scale which we always knew she could do - Millie getting that qualification she so richly deserves. Brilliant – everyone was thrilled for you. Onwards and upwards because she can. Very well done. UDex 186

Best Track: Jenny Hickey & Hapenny Dare To Be Magic B BC Fabulous track by Deja only losing ½ mark – loads of potential here.

WD 5 entries

1st Karen Whiteley & Revloch In Demand D BSD Groenendael A new team to me and wow – what a performance. A steady committed full point nosework round followed by super C&A with the only points being lost in the heelwork – Zak likes to give a running commentary – and a blip with the long jump. Very worthy winners and best track. Well done. WDex 194

2nd Barbara Sharkey & Go Bellastic B GSD Cracking team this – lovely keen, strong attitude from Belle throughout the test which they completed with ease – have a very bright future ahead. Well done. WDex 192.5

3rd Judith Owens Poole & Ch. Fircroft Endeavour Jun Ch Nov Ex D BC Steady, confident work from Morse throughout, even if he found the ribbon in the search a bit bizarre. Should have no problem progressing through the stakes. Well done Judith for juggling competing successfully amongst everything else you did! WDex 175
