Thanks to Surrey Dog Training Society for asking me to replace your Ticket judge, it was a pleasure. Also thanks to the sponsors, Arden Grange, and the land owners.

44 entries. This was the highest standard Ticket appointment I have judged in my career of Ticket judging; the dogs were outstanding in the tracking and control. I set a long track 1090 yards long with only 15 legs and a minimum of 30 yards between all legs. The tracking at Surrey is always on good grass fields and this year was no exception with only five failing, two failing stays and four failing the control section. The search articles were a 10 inch bolt, a wooden peg, 12 inch string and a plastic tie; all could not be placed in a match box!! I had the pleasure of five experienced track layers, Tess, Val, Maggie, Mark and John, with Les being my search steward and pack horse carrying the daily bolts.

Thank you all for your time. Lé scribed for me in the control field. When Lé and I ran the Oxford Championship trial we always used to set our standard from the organization of Surrey trial with the tracking fields, facilities and food, it’s so nice to see that it has not changed. With the "I" Regulations, it allows judges flexibility and interpretation. In the heelwork it states natural manner, not obedience, and the sendaway, after a reasonable time to improve the position, I marked 4-1-5

The food was excellent, mid-day meals with Beryl leading a large team of helpers and thank you for the card.

Most score sheets seem to have changed, not leaving a column for Regulation 26 h; is it that judges do not use this anymore?

To the competitors who gave me thanks for my tests, I gave a lot of thought into the track articles, pattern and control round. I feel satisfied and with the number of qualifiers it seemed to have worked, thanks again.
