P.D. STAKE

Judge: COLIN HARRISON

Tracklayers: Richard Cornwell & Charlie Taylor

Steward:  Gill Macgregor

Criminals:  Dave  Martin,  Charlie Taylor, Richard Cornwell & David Clark

Thanks to Surrey for inviting me to judge the P.D.Stake, and to John and the many helpers for running a successful trial. I also wish to say a big thank you to the following people for  helping  me with  my test:  Charlie  and Richard for track laying,   also Char lie, Richard, Dave Clark and Dave Martin my criminals. Gill for stewarding squares. control and patrol. thank you for your valuable help.

The weather was very hot: tracking was on grass and all  dogs coped with the nosework really well. but after the control and agility only  two  were still  qualifying. The Patrol round started  with the Quarter around the

perimeter of the field where hides had been placed to give the dogs a draw. Once  the criminal had been found  and searched this was followed by an escort and attack on handler, next was the chase, test of courage, then finally  the  recall.  Four dogs entered,  two qualified.

1 st          Mike   Woods,  COCKBURN   WILF (BC) D. 30 I. Well done, lovely to watch in all sections, a deserved win.

2nd         Linda Newbold,  LITTLE  BRADLEY (X Breed) D. 272.5 A good all round performance, well done.

3rd          Ruth  Cahill , DAVERIES  HARRIET (GSD)  B. 286.5 NQ. A really nice patrol round, but a shame about the jumps.

4th          Stan Ford, OVERHILLS RYOT (GSD) B. 255.5 NQ. Jumps and quarter took their toll here, maybe the heat, otherwise very good work.
