Thank you to the society for thinking of me when they needed a replacement judge. As always, Jen and I had a great time at the Skipsea trial. Thanks to Jeff and Sheila Margreaves for a well-run and very sociable trial. A big thanks to all Jeff and Sheila’s team of helpers.
We had a great bunch of competitors, who did their best to help their dogs during my test, thank you to you all.
1st Mick Fryatt, with ASH ASSASSINO, X-Breed, 94.5, Q. Mick and Ash tackled the test with enthusiasm and competence. Well done on your 1st place and good luck in the future.
2nd Ruth Payton, with KALIAZAR CHAOS, BC, 93.5, Q. Another good performance, in all sections - well done.
3rd ARO Andy Magyar, with GLENALPINE SETH, BC, 86, Q. Plenty of fire in this dog, controlled well by Andy.

Thank you to YWTS for the invitation to judge the UD stake. Well done to Jeff and Shelia and the team of helpers at the base and in the kitchen for running the trial. A special thanks to Tom and Liz Mills for sharing their home with me throughout the trial. A big thank you to my tracklayers, Tom and Andy, and my stewards, who all did an excellent job over the two days.
The fields were ideal for tracking and it was a pleasure to see the majority of teams complete the track. Control let a few teams down, especially on the stays and agility section. Good luck in the future

Thanks to Yorkshire WTS for the invitation to judge the TD stake. Again, I apologise for the lateness of this report.
Big thanks go to Jeff and Sheila Margreaves for running an excellent trial; nothing was too much trouble for them. The tracking land Jeff put aside for TD was, for the time of year, very good – winter wheat with a good amount of growth. We saw some excellent tracks, most teams doing very well in the nosework. The weather was quite kind to us with only the first day having wind and rain. On the other days, there was heavy overnight frost followed by sunshine and, which is usually the case, the early tracks seemed to fare best.
My tracklayers were Mark, Dave and Richard, who all did a splendid job and were also very good company, although Mark and myself will have to agree to disagree on some of the topics we discussed at length! June laid squares and stewarded control in her usual calm way, making sure I was where I should be. Many thanks to you all and to the other helpers who give their time between Christmas and New Year to ensure that this trial continues to run each year.
Thanks also to Rita and Sandra in the kitchen for the food hampers and the evening meals we enjoyed at the base.
1st Gary Atkins with WTCh GLENALPINE PETE, CDEx – TDEx, BC, 215, Q TDEx. This team only lost 2 marks on the nosework and 3 on the control – very worthy winners and very much the team to beat at the moment. Well done, Gary and Pete.
2nd Barry Gilbert with WTCh GLENALPINE COSWORTH, CDEx – TDEx, BC, 207.5, Q TDEx. Another excellent nosework round, with the odd marks lost in control. Very well done. Another team that are always in contention for the Ticket.
3rd Andrea Lynd with REBARK BUBBLY PEG, CDEx – TDEx, Lab, 200.5, Q TDEx. This team tracked in the wind and rain but stuck to the task. Nice nosework, odd marks lost on the control. Peg worked really well for you, Andrea. Congratulations.
4th Andy Laws with LAWS LITTLE FRANKIE, CDEx – TDEx, X-Breed, 194.5, Q TDEx. Another good track but unfortunately missed an article. Full mark jumps and a good control round. Nicely handled, well done.
